Championship new boys, Peterborough United, headed up to St Andrews for a mid-table clash this weekend with the Posh looking to end Birmingham's unbeaten home start to the season.

I was at the game, in the away end, and documented my day...

6:05 - Its practically still night time to me but thankfully the doors of my Virgin train to Birmingham New Street have just opened. Bit of warmth and sleep for the next hour or two. Excitement building already...

7:30 - I open my eyes for the first time on the journey and we're arriving into Wolverhampton station. I quickly decide to go back to sleep and pray that I still have possession of my wallet and phone when we reach Birmingham.

7:49 - Arrive at Birmingham New Street three hours before my mate, bit of a dilemma. Cheeky bit of christmas present browsing in the Bull Ring will do the job, and breakfast. Already sensing a win (Well, its not raining so i'm optimistic).

9:37 - Don't know how some people rate shopping above football. Maybe you need money to enjoy it?

12:03 - The day is slowly getting started with a chinese style 'all you can eat' buffet. Bit of pork, chicken and beef does the job. Next stop, pub.

13:30
- Pint of Carlsberg as Norwich play Arsenal in the background. Van Persie running it again. Not a big fan of Arsenal but RVP is in my fantasy team. Bonus! On that theme, so is Steve Morison. Get in!

14:27
- Another beer down. Time to head to the ground dreaming of a last minute winner. Knowing Peterborough, they'll keep me on my toes... Expecting a thriller (0-0 then...).

14:59 - Just moments from kick-off. This is what Saturdays were made for, football. The players are on the pitch, its going to be a cracker... Match prediction. BCFC 2-3 PUFC.

15:47 - It's half-time. Everyone is rushing for a famous Birmingham 'Balti' pie but forget that, saving my money for beer. One-nil down to a Marlon King goal and we don't look like scoring. Get Sinclair on...

16:52 - Full time. 1-1. Would have taken a draw away at St Andrews any day, pretty happy with that. Grant McCann's free-kick was unreal, even caught it on camera. (SEE BELOW). Probably a bit lucky to grab a point but we took our chance! Back to the pub for Swansea v United.

18:11
- The little Mexican 'Chicharito' has scored again, poachers effort. United one up against Swansea but not having it all their own way. Few more cheeky drinks until its time for the train back to Preston...

19:15 - Train leaves in five minutes, just enough time to grab a Boots meal deal. Triple sandwich, drink and crisps for £3.20. Not happy about the 20p rise but it's still a bargain!

21:01 - Finally arrive back in Preston and it's absolutely freezing. Beginning to doubt whether shorts were a good idea. Back to the flat now, Match of the Day and the Football League Show to round the day off nicely...

23:02 - Just seen the Wigan v Blackburn highlights. Brilliant entertainment. Controversy over Blackburn's second goal and Paul Robinson winning a penalty deep into injury time. Unbelievable...

23:24 - Sack this, I'm knackered. Time to sleep. Another brilliant football day out...
