Well as a Preston North End fan I don’t think it can get much more embarrassing then losing to Southend.

After a 1 – 0 defeat at the weekend to Rochdale, PNE fans were looking to this FA Cup game to try and gain some pride back, but again we were disappointed.

There are already calls for Brown to be replaced and I for one think that something should happen, whether it be Brown to go, which in all fairness may not be a great solution to the problem or the board needs to do something more constructive with their money, as a club we simply cannot continue like this.

Stuckmann again showed his talent when The Shrimpers nearly took an early lead when Liam Dickinson sent in a free kick which was knocked away.

But Dickinson soon got his chance when he scored the first and only goal of the game for Southend.

North End are now on their 12th game without a win in all competitions. This record is simply ridiculous, to think back just 5 years ago when we were in the play off final to West Ham United and more recently almost 3 years ago in the semi finals against Sheffield United.

In such a short space of time the team is tumbling down and there are serious concerns as to how they are going to get out of such a devastating routine.

The main focus now has to be improving the league position and continuing to progress in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy which PNE are currently in the North Semi Final of.

Problems are lying in the defence at the moment and the squad is clearly lacking depth, the current loan signings aren’t making a big impact on the team and the systems are predictable.

Right there I have pointed out four issues that need to be addressed if Preston North End are going to move out of the failure they have themselves in at the moment.

I only hope something happens soon.
