Andre Villas Boas has become the youngest Premier League manager at just 33 after signing for Chelsea this summer.

The young manager previously helped Porto to win a string of trophies including the UEFA Europa League and guided the team to a season-long unbeaten run.

It has been an emotional ride for Darren Clarke
Sunday 17th July 2011.

That is the day when the history books were rewritten as Northern Ireland claimed its third Major golf title in 13 months. An emotional Darren Clarke joined golf’s elite as he raised the famous Claret Jug aloft at the end of a gruelling days play. Utterly amazing.

Fabregas is yet to gain a Premier League winner's medal
Cesc Fabregas was introduced to Arsenal fans across the country during a League Cup tie against Rotherham United in October 2003 at the tender age of sixteen, making him Arsenal’s youngest ever player to appear in the first eleven.

He also became the London based club’s youngest ever goal scorer in a later round of the same competition.

Uwe Rosler has brought hope to Griffin Park
With the new season almost upon us; in one corner of West London there is a real buzz of excitement, and it might not be from the first place you think of.

With nearby neighbours Queens Park Rangers having re-joined the so called 'elite' of the Premier League and Fulham and Chelsea both playing European opposition, you might have thought that League One Brentford might be sitting in awe. But, this isn’t the case as something special seems to be brewing at Griffin Park, and it's not just from the pubs on each corner.

Murray has found himself in a tough era for tennis domination
This week at Queens University Belfast is graduation week as thousands of students flock to the main Whitla hall to receive the recognition of all their hard work.

I myself will attend a ceremony to receive my Second Class First Division Degree in Law with French for what is truly a momentous occasion in the life of any student, as their academic lives finish and they are now ready for the big bad world.

Barnsley face financial crisis heading into the 2011/2012 season
“B” is for Barnsley Football Club, the team I have supported from being knee high to a grasshopper to present, in excess of 30 years. A period of which has been spent travelling through the lower leagues and right up to the brink and recovery from financial disaster.

It’s not a glamorous task by any stretch of the imagination, but then again, it was never promoted as being that way either. Considering the facilities back then, the old “Spion Kop” (now redeveloped as the North Stand) was essentially an old “muck stack” that was conveniently covered by concrete terracing, with no roof. But nobody complained; that was just how it was.

Ambitious. Sven has his eyes on the Premiership
Sven Goran Eriksson, a failed international manager, unexpected lothario and the butt of many a joke ,yet this is the same man who has the uncanny ability to find himself working in 'projects' that others could only dream.

This is a man who has managed the England national side taking them as far as many had done previously and was at the forefront of a foreign managerial boom. The same man who took on the project of trying to get League Two Notts County to the English Premier league.

Promotion Push - Can Reading return to the top-flight after last year's play-off final agony
Out of the twenty-four teams competing in the Championship for the 2011/2012 season, eighteen have enjoyed at least a season in the Premier League since its inception.

These teams are striving to return to the Promised Land and many even believe it’s their divine right to be playing in the top tier of English football. The parachute payments of £12 million a year paid to clubs relegated from the Premier League over four years merely adds to the competitiveness of ‘The Championship’. Played out over 46 games, this all makes for a very tough league indeed. A tough league to get out of and, although a cliché, it really is true that any team can beat any of its rivals making predicting results a lottery.
