Wales were expected to start on a tough note as their last win at Twickenham was 1988, making it one victory out of thirteen, but many pundits felt that it could be Wales’ afternoon with the strength of the team and the maturity of their development.

After England’s success against Scotland, (13-6) Stuart Lancaster, the squad’s head coach has named the same starting line up against Italy. Preston North End legend Graham Alexander has taken to his coaching role very well. Himself and Unsworth saw the LilyWhites win 1-0 away to MK Dons last Saturday and are hoping to continue a winning run on their upcoming game against Carlisle United.
Young Preston North End star Danny Mayor has expressed how he’s looking forward to the Carlisle game on Boxing Day.
The Leyland born winger came up through North End’s youth ranks and on the 15 December 2008 was given his first professional two and a half year contract with fellow player Adam Barton. Belfast born Conor McLaughlin almost scored his first PNE goal against MK Dons last week at the closing stages of the game.
The versatile player has played in both defence and midfield for the whites and is continuing to show us his skills on the pitch since turning professional with the club in January 2010. It finally happened. Preston North End have ended their 10 league game losing streak by winning 1 – 0 against Hartlepool. Preston striker Neil Mellor scored the only goal of the match from 22 yards out and has said he hopes this will restore the faith back into the team. I can’t even begin to express how angry I am at the disgrace of a performance by Preston North End, losing yet another game to yet another team who on paper aren't as good.
Stuckmann, again, was a rock for PNE. He has been the only consistent player that has saved the team from being wiped off the pitch with goals. Former England rugby coach Martin Johnson has defended England’s World Cup tactics as reports are leaked into their failure.
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) are currently appointing an independent investigator to look into who leaked the reports describing it as a ‘serious breach of confidentiality.’ Well as a Preston North End fan I don’t think it can get much more embarrassing then losing to Southend.
After a 1 – 0 defeat at the weekend to Rochdale, PNE fans were looking to this FA Cup game to try and gain some pride back, but again we were disappointed. Mike Tindall was fined by the RFU earlier this year after his outrageous behaviour at the Rugby World Cup, as well as being dropped from the England squad.
The 33 year old Gloucester centre has now decided to take action against his £25,000 fine. |
